The FireBoy Manual / Automatic Discharge Fire Extinguishing System stays on guard, 24 hours a day and is the safest way to combat an engine room fire.

Third Party Shipping Issue With Defender
This product ships directly from the manufacturer but shipping costs are paid through the Defender invoice. If you buy this product you will not get free shipping for this over $3000.00 order. Shipping was selected by the supplier then passed to one or more carriers along the way. The last one would not deliver the product to the door driver stating "we do not deliver on unpaved roads". The address is a farm typically supporting 30 ton product vehicles on an unpaved road. The delivery required physical transfer of the item by lift to the customer's vehicle for completion of the delivery to the order address. Tell Defender you expect delivery to the door as promised by the order which in this case cost $600.00 All other defender products have come directly to our door by the carriers contracted.

Based on Fireboy the system comes with the light and bracket.

I have a 27’ searay sundancer, 1986, twin engines with 125 gallons of fuel, how do I determine what size I need, the boat has a fire boy halon system already in place,I’m pretty sure that it’s not functional being its age
Two things to remember. First it is the cubic area of the engine room that determines the size of the extinguisher. Second is be sure to find a place to recycle the halon. Defender has some pretty good reference sites that you can use. Good luck

How many cubic feet will this unit handle

On our website under the title "Fireboy Manual/Automatic Fire Extinguishing System", then the rating and then the price, you will see where it says size and there is a blank box below that. If you click on that box it will give you options of the size that the fire extinguisher system will handle. It ranges from 25 cubic feet to 1,500 cubic feet.

What is the life span for a fire boy halogen system?
We have it certified every year, but the cylinder rusted out on our boat out about the 12 year mark. I bought a new one and this time I rubber coated the base so that it will not rust. Let's see how long it last but if you take care of it, it should last over 10 years.

According to the installation instructions, it can be mounted vertically or horizontally, but not upside down.
