Joke is on the user of these valves
These are now a joke. I ordered 3 of them and all 3 had gaps. I thought maybe they work like this now, and tried one... NO they do not work! I called Jabsco they recommended installing a 1-way-valve, like you use on bilge lines. In fact that's in the name of it, used for bilges NOT sanitation hoses. They wanted me to cut into my hose to instal this. This is NOT the answer. In the last 10yrs owning this boat I've never had back flow problems until using these 'new' valves so there should be no reason to install another 1-way valve. And yes my holding tank is not blocked or vent lines blocked etc, I ensured that last time pumping out.

Good replacement.
Seems to be an excellent replacement so far. Will know more when I learn how long it lasts. (I bought two.)

Very expensive rubber, but needed
There is nothing physically wrong with this joker valve: it does what it is supposed to do. My issue is that it shouldn't cost 25 times what it costs to produce. But its needed, so one has no choice...
