Sizing your mooring:

Your local harbor master will be able to help you size your mooring, chain, and rode, but you should also check with your insurance company before making a final selection.

Your harbor may have regulations as to the size, so you could be held liable and fined for having an undersized mooring, or your insurance company may require a certain sized mooring. In either of these cases you could face a significant liability if your mooring is undersized.

Unfortunately, since each harbor and insurance company has its own requirements, we are not able to tell you what size mooring you need, what size chain you need, or the length of your mooring rode. This is because there are differences in conditions between harbors and boats that no one here at Defender can account for. So, please ask your local harbor master to be certain that you have purchased a mooring that is suitable for your boat and harbor conditions.
