leader in DFI technology is proud to introduce a new family of efficient, powerful and low-emissions OptiMax engines
for 2004 model year.
The new 1.5L OptiMax family will deliver 3-star C.A.R.B. emissions with a 2-stroke power curve. The family weighs
significantly less than comparable fourstrokes making them the perfect choice to power aluminum fishing and smaller
fiberglass boats such as bass, bay and flats hull types.
The 1.5L OptiMax engine management functions are controlled by the exclusive PCM 555 processor. This processor
provides a level of engine management that is unmatched in the industry. The 555 processor also makes the 1.5L
family SmartCraft ready, allowing the boat operator to take
advantage of a myriad of engine information right at their fingertips.
Other unique features include a 5-qt integral oil reservoir, providing easy oil level monitoring and boat rigging
in a compact package. An external oil reservoir will also be available.
The three engines feature a powerful 60-amp/756 watt belt-driven alternator system similar to that used by the
2.5L and 3.0L OptiMax models. This alternator system will provide unmatched charging capabilities for the boat
operator.

· Each model features the powerful 038 Motorola control module for unmatched engine management and
SmartCraft capabilities.
· A specially designed cooling system keeps the 1.5L OptiMax engine block running at ideal temperatures
for durability and reliability.
· These models feature the 60-amp/756 watt belt-driven alternator system which provides charging "on-demand"
for the ultimate in efficiency and charging performance.
· Each model features a 5-qt integral oil reservoir with dipstick attachment to easily monitor engine
oil levels for ease of maintenance and low-hassle boating.
