    MARINE SERVICE TECHNICIAN

    General Summary:
    In addition to boat and outboard service, this individual will work with others for after sales support and be available to assist in the carrying out of miscellaneous duties as outlined, but not limited to the outline below.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and assist in organization of service area
    • Inspection of boats and motors as they are received
    • Troubleshoot and repair boats & engines for customers and dealer stock under warranty
       (Or not under warranty)
    • Produce proper paperwork for paid repairs and submit warranty claims including follow up and
      customer contact
    • Run engines that require PDI’s before delivery for customers
    • Set up trailers to match boats
    • Assist with Rigging jobs when required
    • Handle service inquiries in the store, on the phone or in person
    • Answer employee questions from call center and the store
    • Go to various schooling as required for certification purposes to learn more about the
      product and mechanics when and if offered
    • Assist in store retail sales if needed
    • Work Saturdays during busy season as required
    • Miscellaneous duties as needed to help Defender achieve their mission statement,
      (Warehouse sale, boat shows) which may mean being “lent” to another department, or
      Extended hours during the busy season

    Required Knowledge and Skills:
    Entry level:

    • Ability to follow procedure with attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Ability to communicate with customers in a professional manner
    • Knowledge of safety procedures
    • Knowledge of material moving including but not limited to, forklift operation
    • Knowledge of small outboard mechanics

    Advanced:

    • Knowledge of Inflatable boats
    • Knowledge of inflatable boat repair

    BOATS & MOTORS ADMINSTRATIVE ASSISTANT

    General Summary:

    Provide administrative assistance to the Boat and Motor Sales and Service group.  This role includes providing support for other Employees as well as assisting with Customer inquiries/needs as it relates to Administrative Department tasks.  The job includes other miscellaneous duties, some of which are described below.

    Job Skills:

    • Personal computer and data entry skills, MS Excel, Word, Outlook required
    • Ability to follow procedure with attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
    • Must be able to work in a fast paced work environment with ability to prioritize
    • Excellent human relations skills and interpersonal skills required.  Skills in conflict resolution needed
    • Ability to work through frequent interruptions without sacrificing attention to detail
    • Knowledge of Inflatable boats and outboard motors helpful
    • Customer service experience helpful

    Education/Work History:  High School Diploma or equivalent. Read and write English.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Analyze and process boat and motor orders including registration paperwork where needed
    • Warranty registrations with manufacturers
    • Respond to customer requests for replacement registration paperwork
    • Rebate submissions with manufacturers and reconciliation
    • Assist call center staff with inquiries/product information lookup/product pricing
    • Monitor Department e-mail boxes and disposition as needed to proper person or respond
    • Reconcile warranty payments/follow up vendor claims/ Maintain paper files as needed
    • Issuing registration paperwork for registered vessels/trailers as needed
    • Order entry into computerized system/data entry
    • Light proof reading of web pages
    • Any other duties that will help ensure the Company’s success and contribute to Customer satisfaction

    Physical Requirements:  Works in an office located in a warehouse environment.  May be required to lift between 20 to 30 pounds.  Movements vary between bending, sitting, and stooping.  Temperature ranges from 55 to ambient.

    NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    This position requires application of knowledge of established procedures, policies and best practices.
    Must act as an escalation point for Tier2 to deal with any issue when required.

    Perform troubleshooting and diagnosis of complex enterprise security device incidents
    Work with Design Engineer, Project Engineer and Project Manager on customer transition, implementation, or transformation projects.

    Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on customer security products and services.
    Must understand how proposed architectural changes will impact the business and be able to articulate outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences.

    Will have responsibility of taking ownership of assigned tasks, resolve tasks within assigned shift or correctly transition incident to oncoming shift if not resolved, track task to resolution.
    Work with enterprise security device vendors to resolve complex incidents, replace defective hardware, and receive software patches/fixes to resolve incidents.

    Assess vendor vulnerability reports against existing customer devices. Work with customer to implement mitigation activities if required.
    Assist Tier2 engineers with or perform troubleshooting, configuration, replacement, updating or installation of enterprise security devices.

    Create, distribute, analyze and evaluate network management performance reports to requestor. Perform in-depth research of assigned problems to identify resolution options, document options, select best option, and present information to customer and implement approved resolution.  Create and present Root Cause Analysis (RCA) document when requested. Participate in audit and compliance assessments performed internally, by external vendors or by customer audit teams.

    Perform other duties as required.
    This is a non-exempt position and is subject to occasional overtime. 

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Ability to multitask, prioritize and resolve urgent issues.
    Must have excellent understanding and knowledge of enterprise firewall functionality. This includes but is not limited to: Sonicwall NSA devices, Cisco (PIX/FWSM/ASA), etc.
    Must have advanced understanding of Change Management tools. This includes but is not limited to: ITIL based CSM, etc.

    Experience working in 24x7 centers with complex, mission-critical, high transaction, high availability environments. Advanced understanding of networking technologies, e.g. routers, switches, routing protocols, etc..
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Must have enhanced Linux/Unix skills with desired daily administration experience in Tomcat/Apache.  Must have enhanced VMWare 5.5 administration and setup experience.
    At least 3 years’ experience working with TCP/IP, Ethernet networks and troubleshooting tools (tcpdump, trace, etc.)  An advanced understanding of Internet protocols such as UDP, ICMP, DNS, SMTP, POP, HTTP, and SNMP

    Extensive and hands on experience with both physical and network/host level security.  Ideal candidate will have understanding of industry trends in all areas of Information Security.  Ideal candidate will have a strong, multi-discipline, operations background with emphasis on supporting business critical environments

    • Security + (301)
    • Sonicwall NSA device configuration
    • ITIL 3 certification

    INVENTORY CLERK

    NATURE & SCOPE:
    The incumbent reports directly to the Inventory Control Manager. Ensures that cycle counts are completed and entered into our system daily. Performs audits on outbound loads. Verifies inventory against the file and makes appropriate adjustments. Helps provide training.  The incumbent must be able to react quickly when problems and /or questions arise. In most cases they are the liaison between the buying department and call center and warehouse operations. Works in a fast paced environment and must be able to handle multiple demands.  Makes bin location changes and assigns new items to a bin location. 

    JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform daily cycle counts.
    • Process returned merchandise, inspect and report status as directed.
    • Work with shipping department for investigations of missing product.
    • When necessary assist other support staff in the warehouse operation, and provide back up for any of the functions these positions are responsible for.
    • Train new staff members.
    • Assist in other departments, i.e. shipping, selection, receiving and packing as needed.
    • Assists with correcting receiving errors.
    • Frequent communication with buyers, vendors, call center and warehouse management.
    • Answer, transfer calls, take messages, page and make phone calls as necessary.
    • Equipment used includes calculator, copy machine, fax machine, PC and printer.
    • Works with the inventory control systems.

    ASSISTANT WEB MASTER AND DATA ANALYST

    Overview:
    In this challenging position you will be responsible for providing web programming and web content  as well as develop, trouble shoot and improve existing code and scripting. You will also provide Access2010 and Microsoft SQL support to the E-Commerce department.  This assistance will include custom data retrieval and maintenance of existing Access databases and forms used in day to day web data processing and mailing list files.

    Required Experience:

      • Two years of recent hands-on ecommerce experience
      • Experience working with a large ecommerce web site with product catalog greater than 15,000 items.
      • Experience programming in JSP, Java, Javascript
      • Database experience with Microsoft Access 2010, Visual Basic, and SQL
      • Able to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, Photoshop and the basic mechanics of website construction and design
      • Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Search Optimization ( SEO )
      • Knowledge of JQuery, Ajax, HTML5, PHP and ASP.net, is desirable
      • Experience with an internally hosted website running on a Linux/Tomcat Apache system is a big plus.
