Job Summary: This position is responsible for establishing and providing high standards in customer relations, product knowledge and sales floor services. This position requires us to maintain optimum customer service levels through personalized, friendly service. Responsible for maintaining a knowledge of all products and current marketing strategies. Responsible for answering phones and respond to cashier paging in a timely manner. Maintain inventory, product merchandising standards and inventory counts. Maintain store cleanliness & facility conditions. Maintain a vigilant security watch on store merchandise, as well as customer safety. Cooperate with all departments. Help load and unload merchandise for customers when needed.
Nature and Scope: This position reports directly to the Outlet Store Manager and Assistant Manager. It functions in a department that exists to provide experience, excellence, and expertise in all areas of the Outlet Store, especially in customized friendly service.
Education and Experience: 2 year college degree, and or 3+ years of marine industry experience, and/or moderate boating experience/product knowledge with High School Diploma required. (Sail or Power preferred)
Essential Job Duties: Customer service in varying degrees. Help customers locate in stock items. Guide customers in different scenarios of customer service. Answer incoming phone calls, providing answers and guidance for customers calling in. Take orders for customers for items we don’t have in stock or don’t normally carry in stock. Help customers with purchased items out to their vehicles.
STANDARDS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Qualifications: Education/Work History: High School Diploma or equivalent. Read and write English
Job Skills: Excellent human relations skills and interpersonal skills required. Skills in conflict resolution needed. Accuracy and timeliness are very important. Must be able to work with frequent interruptions. Personal computer and data entry skills, familiarity with MS Excel, and Word a plus. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Accuracy, attention to detail, neatness, good communication skills, ability to prioritize and organize and flexibility are all important to effectively perform this job
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; to reach with hands and arms; to talk and to hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; stoop; climb ladders; kneel; crouch and crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Temperature ranges from 55 to 90 degrees
This job requires the employee to regularly lift and/or move up to thirty-five (35) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred (100) pounds.
