    Job Summary: This position is responsible for establishing and providing high standards in customer relations, Marine Electronics product knowledge and sales floor services, while maintaining optimum customer service levels through personalized, friendly service.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Customer service in varying degrees. 
    • Help customers locate in stock items. 
    • Guide customers in different scenarios of customer service. 
    • Answer incoming phone calls, providing answers and guidance for customers calling in. 
    • Take orders for customers for items we don’t have in stock or don’t normally carry in stock. 
    • Help customers with purchased items out to their vehicles.
    • Help customers with network wiring and system configurations.
    • Maintain knowledge of new electronics products and current marketing.
    • Answer phones and respond to cashier paging in a timely manner
    • Maintain inventory and product merchandising standards.
    • Work with vendors to better understand electronics products and installations,
    • Work with customers to design electronics systems and network cabling requirements.
    • Maintain store cleanliness & facility conditions.
    • Maintain a vigilant security watch on store merchandise, as well as customer safety.
    • Program AIS units for customers in a timely manner and troubleshoot and inspect returns.
    • Assist purchasing in marketing and in maintaining store displays of department merchandise and assist purchasing in creating annual electronics buy/sell program and merchandise selection.
    • Assist in Catalog proofing and assist customers in maintain software versions.
    • Assist Ecommerce in web proofing of electronics category items and vendor electronics pages.

    Nature and Scope:  

    • This position reports directly to the Outlet Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
    • This position works with the Electronics buyers and the Ecommerce department. 
    • This position also assists the Call Center Customers especially in customized friendly service for support of all marine electronic items.

    Required Knowledge and Skills:

    • Two year college degree and/or 3+ years marine industry + boating experience (Sail or Power)
    • Marine electronics sales
    • Purchasing and installation a plus 
    • Excellent human relations skills and interpersonal skills required. 
    • Skills in conflict resolution needed. 
    • Accuracy and timeliness are very important. 
    • Must be able to work with frequent interruptions. 
    • Personal computer and data entry skills, familiarity with MS Excel, and Word a plus.
    • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. 
    • Accuracy, attention to detail, neatness, good communication skills, ability to prioritize and organize and flexibility are all important to effectively perform this job

    Physical Requirements: 

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; to reach with hands and arms; to talk and to hear.
    • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; stoop; climb ladders; kneel; crouch and crawl. 
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 
    • Temperature ranges from 55 to ambient.
    • This job requires the employee to regularly lift and/or move up to thirty-five (35) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred (100) pounds.

    General Summary: In addition to boat and outboard service, this individual will work with others for after sales support and be available to assist in the carrying out of miscellaneous duties as outlined, but not limited to the outline below.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and assist in organization of service area
    • Inspection of boats and motors as they are received
    • Troubleshoot and repair boats & engines for customers and dealer stock under warranty (Or not under warranty)
    • Produce proper paperwork for paid repairs and submit warranty claims including follow up and customer contact
    • Run engines that require PDI’s before delivery for customers
    • Set up trailers to match boats
    • Assist with Rigging jobs when required
    • Handle service inquiries in the store, on the phone or in person
    • Answer employee questions from call center and the store
    • Go to various schooling as required for certification purposes to learn more about the product and mechanics when and if offered
    • Assist in store retail sales if needed
    • Work Saturdays during busy season as required
    • Miscellaneous duties as needed to help Defender achieve their mission statement, (Warehouse sale, boat shows) which may mean being “lent” to another department, or Extended hours during the busy season

    Required Knowledge and Skills:
    Entry level:

    • Ability to follow procedure with attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Ability to communicate with customers in a professional manner
    • Knowledge of safety procedures
    • Knowledge of material moving including but not limited to, forklift operation
    • Knowledge of small outboard mechanics


    • Knowledge of Inflatable boats
    • Knowledge of inflatable boat repair

    Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, boating experience needed

    Warehouse Associate with all warehouse fulfillment functions. Working from system directed RF devices to receive, locate, verify, select, pack & ship marine products. Conduct work practices in a manner which promotes safety that is in accordance with OSHA and MSDS standards. Prior warehouse experience desired; power industrial equipment experience is helpful.  Great Wage and Benefit Package & 401k + Employee discount. Full and Part time positions.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Pick orders from RF Device, and computer generated packing slips.
    • Package, label, and prepare products for shipment.
    • Use shipping software to prepare shipping documents.
    • Assist shipping and receiving, unloading/loading trucks, and sorting/labeling inbound product.
    • Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
    • Read computer generated documents and perform tasks as directed.
    • Cooperate with other warehouse employees.
    • Perform tasks accurately.
    • Assist other departments with projects as assigned.
    • Keep work area stocked with supplies. 
    • Ensure that Hazardous Materials, Limited Quantity, liquids and not regulated are packed in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations.
    • Review all details associated with the packing slip or RF device.
    • Identify and report any and all errors to management.
    • Complete all necessary documentation as they relate to the assigned task.
    • Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
    • Ensures a safe work environment by adhering to all company policies.
    • Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
    • Opening bales, crates, and other containers.
    • Assisting in counting of physical inventory.
    • Accurately records and confirms weights of all outbound freight.
    • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
    • Sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, or other duties to keep a clean work environment.
    • Organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times, and set-up for the next shift.


    • High School Diploma or equivalent. Read and write English..
    • 1-2 yrs. experience working in a fast pace, high detail oriented warehouse setting.
