Defender Industries Warehouse Outlet Store is looking to fill the position of
PART-TIME CASHIER
Knowledge of boating systems & products desired. Individual must multi-task readily, and thrive in a busy Outlet Store environment. Qualified candidates must have the ability to make independent decisions and be a self-starter. This position is part time, 25-30 hours per week. Some weekends. No evening hours required.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicate with customers through a variety of means – by telephone, e- mail, fax, and in person in a friendly, helpful, timely & professional manner
-
Answer, transfer, take messages, page and make phone calls as necessary
-
Aid customers in completing purchases or transactions with a high degree of accuracy & attention to detail
-
Interact with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about products or services, and to handle and resolve complaints
-
Basic knowledge of boats, excellent communications, and listening skills are especially important.

Must be proficient in computer skills, including all Windows-based program including Excel
-
Must have a desire to exceed the service expectations of our customers
-
Build and develop relationships with others throughout the company in order to implement solutions, which improve service, effectiveness, and results

Assist other departments, as needed

Accurate and expeditious computerized order entry, (catalog merchandise, custom special orders for outfitting needs.)
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Proficient in computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Physical requirements: Work in a fast paced Outlet Store environment. Prolonged periods spent standing, on the phone, typing and looking at a computer screen. Mobility required throughout the facility. May be required to lift between 20 to 30 pounds.

Warehouse Associate with all warehouse fulfillment functions. Working from system directed RF devices to receive, locate, verify, select & pack marine products. Conduct work practices in a manner which promotes safety that is in accordance with OSHA and MSDS standards. Prior warehouse experience desired; power industrial equipment experience is helpful. Great Wage and Benefit Package & 401k + Employee discount. Full and Part time positions.
Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalency.

1-2 yrs. exp. working in a fast pace, high detail oriented warehouse setting.
-
Will be required to lift between 30 to 75 pounds. Movements vary between bending, sitting, stooping and climbing. Temperature ranges from 55 to ambient.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
-
Operate hand held scanners and perform tasks as directed, and work from computer generated orders.
-
Perform tasks accurately, in a safe and efficient manner.
-
Ensure that Hazardous Material, ORMD and liquid are packed in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations.
-
Verify items throughout the receiving, put away, selection, and packing tasks.
-
Confirm that the packing list or purchase order was verified and accurate at each step.
-
Maintains safe, and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
-
Miscellaneous duties to assist the company in its quest for growth (tent sales, promotions etc.), and assist with other projects as assigned.
-
Keep work area stocked with packing and picking materials.
-
Review all items associated with an order or receiving.
-
Complete all necessary documentation as they relate to the assigned task.

Ability to effectively communicate and interact with other employees.
