Our ideal candidate will have a wealth of boating experience, high energy and the desire and ability to provide an excellent customer experience.


  • Establishes and provides high standards in customer relations, product knowledge and sales floor services
  • Maintains optimum customer service levels through personalized, friendly service
  • Maintains a knowledge of all products and current marketing strategies
  • Answers phones and responds to cashier paging in a timely manner
  • Maintains inventory, product merchandising standards and inventory counts
  • Maintains store cleanliness & facility conditions
  • Maintains a vigilant security watch on store merchandise, as well as customer safety
  • Helps load and unload merchandise for customers when needed


  • 2 year college degree, and or 3+ years of marine industry experience, and/or moderate boating experience/product knowledge with High School Diploma required
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced work environment while maintaining accuracy and timeliness

Monday – Wednesday, 9AM – 5PM
Thursday & Friday, 9AM – 6PM
Saturday 9AM – 5PM
Sunday (seasonal) 9AM – 3PM
Overtime as Necessary/Required

Defender needs a few experienced Boaters with knowledge of boating equipment, supplies, & accessories to join our successful team in various positions.   Get paid for sharing all you've learned about your sail or power boats while working with other boaters.   Plus - EMPLOYEE DISCOUNTS on all the stuff you want for YOUR BOAT.   Flexible hours, part-time, full-time, or seasonal.
