Dangerous replacement bulb
This LED bulb is designed to replace the incandescent bulb in an Aqua Signal Series 25 bi-color bow light. It is bright.
However bow lights are supposed to cover an arc from dead ahead to 22.5* an aft the beam. They should “bleed” to the opposite side approximately very minimal amount. This light design when viewed from ahead, allows the colors to bleed to the opposite side approximately 35 degrees. That means approaching another vessel from say 10 degrees off the port bow, you would see both red and green nav lights, creating a dangerously confusing situation.
The bleed of the light with an incandescent or white LED bulb is only a few degrees.
I would never buy this product again or recommend anyone purchase it. It should be removed from the market until the “bleed” issue is corrected.
