Description
The Perimeter Gunnel Guard - 3/4 Round is a polyester covered, flexible, long wearing cushion that covers the gunnels of vessels including Whalers, dinghies, work boats and launches. It's ideal for protecting other vessels and surfaces you don't want to make marks on when you come along side of it. It's 3/4 round with 3/4" tabs and has a 1.5" diameter.

Gunnel guard has a few problems.
This gunnel guard has a couple of design issues. First,let me say there is ample padding and it will protect your gunnel. But if you order a piece, is will come with a frayed cut end and will require som sewing, or hemming to make it tidy. Second, as it is a fabric and will be attached permanently, It retains some measure of dirt and stains.

Too big
It is an excellent product but is too big for the boat I bought it for. Apparently the company makes two sizes, Defender sells one size. The catalog was a bit vague but it looked correct based on my measurements so I decided to risk it and just go ahead and buy - I mean there was a 50% chance it would fit, right? Nope. So I take responsibility for my mistake.

Great gunnel guard that last forever
I have had this gunnel guard on another boat for 23 years and it has held up well. Just bought more gunnel guard for a new tender. It is very pricey but it works. The Defender online site is setup improperly to sell this product limiting sales to 18' lengths - it comes in 50' lenghts from Taylor. I ordered to 15' lengths - this worked for me but may not for you.
