Mustang Inflatable Life Jacket / PFD with Lift

The Mustang MD0450 Auto Hydrostatic Inflatable Vest with LIFT™ is a lightweight inflatable PFD designed with a shorter length and a low, flexible profile to ensure total mobility during the most rigorous activities. Engineered with revolutionary LIFT™ technology for increased freeboard and Hydrostatic Inflator Technology (HIT) for reliable inflation in a low maintenance design, the MD0450 was designed primarily for performance sailors, security and rescue professionals and people in offshore environments.

LIFT™ technology improves safety for users in variable wind and wave conditions by elevating the mouth out of the water by up to 9 inches (23cm). This increase in freeboard has been shown to reduce underwater mouth immersions by 80%, reducing the risks of drowning and exposure.

Hydrostatic Inflator Technology ( HIT ) will only automatically inflate when submerged in 4 or more inches of water and not inadvertently due to rain, spray or humidity. Made for the most severe marine environments the Auto Hydrostatic Inflatable Vest with LIFT™ will meet the challenges of the most demanding users.

  • Use only Mustang Survival Rearm kits. Use of other Rearm kits may result in improper operation or failure to operate and will void the product's warranty
  • Modification of a Life Vest will void its Warranty and void its Coast Guard Approval
    • Modifying a PFD, such as (permanently) adding additional body strap webbing, voids the device's approval, no matter who does the modification. However, for a person with a chest size over 130 cm (52 inches), using an adult universal PFD with a clip-on body strap extension does not void the approval. If a PFD manufacturer wishes to provide the body strap extension, we recommend that it be provided with a PFD pamphlet and a caution that the PFD with the extension be tested by the individual user.
