Pre-Made Anchor Line and Chain Accessories

The anchor is the part of your boat that keeps you literally grounded and stops your vessel from drifting off with the current when you need to stop, or when it is time to sit back in a lagoon and enjoy a cold beverage with your music playing.
You need a strong and reliable anchor line that will keep performing time and time again without fail.

Why Pre-Made?

Traditionally, anchor and dock lines are respliced back into the rope for optimum strength and reliability.
The individual strands of the rope were woven back into themselves to form a bight or a loop so that other equipment could be attached.
By not interrupting the fibers of the rope/line strands, the strength of the rope is maintained.
Each time the continuity of the rope is broken, it reduces the strength of the line and increases the chance of failure.
This is especially true with anchor lines, because they require strength as well as stretch and flexibility.
A rigid rope would break otherwise, due to the hydraulic force of the water moving the boat as it sits anchored in place.
Pre-made/pre-braided lines save you time as well as improving reliability (especially for more inexperienced boaters).

Defender Offers Many Types of Pre-Made Anchor Lines

  • Nylon 3 strand: Pre-made nylon anchor lines are effective all-purpose rope that is shock absorbent with high strength. They are resistant to abrasions, rot, and mildew.
  • Nylon Double Braid: A braided line within a woven kernmantle sheath, the nylon double braid is easier on the hands and hardware, as well as providing extra protection against the elements, as well as dirt, sticks, and other debris which can quickly wear out an anchor line.
  • Dock-Lines: Pre-made dock lines are easy to coil and reliably withstand a lot of force from the motion of the water as your vessel is moored in place. These lines can stretch without breaking under a lot of force, yet are static enough to keep your boat secure.
  • Rope/Chain: Extremely reliable, yet very heavy and probably not ideal (or necessary for smaller craft). Chain is also much harder to cut than nylon rope, which increases the security of your boat when tied off properly.
  • Pre-Made Chain Accessories: Additional accessories such chain links, replacements, and cleats add to the performance of your anchor chain. They are quick and easy to install and maintain.
