Portable Marine Alcohol Stoves
Portable stoves are a great option if you're dealing with extremely limited space. In fact, they may be your only option if your boat is quite small. Just because they're portable, don't discount their cooking possibilities! These little alcohol stove tops can keep up with their larger counterparts when it comes to cooking ability. We carry two models of portable stoves by Origo.
Our single burner portable stove weighs just 7.5 pounds and takes up less than one square foot with the optional gimbal. It can also be used as a free-standing stove if you prefer.
If you have a bit more room, we have a two-burner version of this same stove. It needs just over 20" by 10" of space with a gimbal and weighs 14 pounds. If you have room to mount it, you'll need a cutout that's 9" high x 20-1/8" wide x 10-5/16" deep for the stove with an optional gimbal. It can also be used as a free-standing stove without the gimbal.
Both versions use safe, non-pressurized denatured alcohol as a fuel. You simply pour the alcohol into the stainless steel canister, where it will be absorbed by a fire-resistant wool material. From there, it will be wicked to the burner via that same wool material. There's no dangerous pressure or flammable material involved. Each fuel canister holds 1.2 liters (1 qt. 8-1/2 oz.) of alcohol. That's about 6-8 hours of burn time.
These stoves produce approximately 7,000 BTUs per burner. That's enough to bring a quart of water to a boil in 6-8 minutes. You'll be able to enjoy your favorite hot beverage when there's a chill in the air. No more cold sandwiches for lunch, either! When it comes time for dinner, you can enjoy a nice hot meal while relaxing on the water.
