          Questions

What is the breaking strength of the 3/8" heavy duty sailors thimble and can you use it in the opposite direction as a lashing for an adjustment back stay?

          Asked by: John
This item is not load rated. The strength comes from the line and splice, not the thimble. Please look at the Schaefer utility rings that are suited to your application, item number ITEM #881199. I am having the specifications updated on our website, in the meantime strength info for the Schaefer rings can be found here: https://hardware.schaefermarine.com/search?type=product&q=Round%20Utility%20Ring* or Friction rings can be used" https://defender.com/en_us/catalogsearch/result/?q=friction%20ring or CS Johnson split backstay cars: https://defender.com/en_us/c-s-johnson-split-backstay-cars
