    Features:

    • The Cyclone™ Mooring pendant is the ultimate addition to mooring pendants
      • Not intended for use without a main mooring pendant (Sold Separately)
    • The Cyclone Mooring pendant is made from Endura 12™ is a 100% Dyneema ® SK75 fiber rope characterized by extremely high tensile strength and ultra low elongation
      • Developed and used by Nantucket Moorings in conjunction MIT and New England Ropes
      • The rope is coated with a proprietary tinted vinyl-based formula to enhance durability, improve fiber-to-fiber abrasion, protect from UV, and provide a system for color coding.
    • Made from Dyneema™ fiber, resulting in a pendant that has extremely high tensile strength and ultra-low elongation
    • When coupled with a nylon-mooring pendant, the cyclone pendant configuration provides the low stretch & abrasion resistances where you need it, at the chock; and stretch where you need it, in the standing part of the rope
    • By eliminating friction at the chock it reduces heat-generated failures
    • While stretch in the standing part of the rope provides shock absorption to protect your hardware
    • This combined low stretch - high stretch configuration has been tested in major east coast mooring fields such as Nantucket harbor on vessels ranging from runabouts to mega yachts
    • The added benefits of the Cyclone™ included the fact that Dyneema™ fiber is very flexible, light weight, does not absorb water, and floats; thus making it easier for your crew to retrieve and secure the mooring.

    • SUNLIGHT / UV:
      • Dyneema™ has very little degradation from UV, and can be used over long term if inspected regularly
    • CHEMICALS:
      • Dyneema™ has good resistance to most minerals, organics, acids, and weak alkalis
      • Dyneema Fiber also has excellent resistance to bleaches and other oxidizing agents as well as to most solvents
    • HEAT:
      • Dyneema™ has a melting point of 300 Degrees F with progressive strength loss above temperatures of 150 Degrees F
    • DIELECTRICS:
      • Good resistance to the passage of electrical current. However, dirt, surface contaminants, water entrapment, and the like can significantly affect dielectric properties
      • Extreme caution should be exercised any time a rope is in the proximity of live circuits
    • WORKING LOADS:
      • No blanket safe working load (SWL) recommendations can be made for any line because SWL's must be calculated based on application, conditions of use, and potential danger to personnel among other considerations. It is recommended that the end user establish working loads and safety factors based on best practices established by the end user's industry; by professional judgment and personal experience; and after thorough assessment of all risks. The SWL is a guideline for the use of a rope in good condition for non-critical applications and should be reduced where life, limb, or valuable property is involved, or in cases of exceptional service such as shock loading, sustained loading, severe vibration, etc. The Cordage Institute specifies that the SWL of a rope shall be determined by dividing the Minimum Tensile Strength of the rope by a safety factor. The safety factor ranges from 5 to 12 for non-critical uses and is typically set at 15 for life lines
