402766 Wood Chart Wood Chart Great Sacandaga Lake SACA-D3M

WoodChart's beautiful map of Great Sacandaga Lake is a 3-D nautical wood map of this lake originally called Sacandaga Reservoir in New York's Adirondack Park. The Great Sacandaga Lake is about 29 miles long and its name in the local Native American language means "land of the waving grass". The primary purpose of creating the reservoir was to control flooding on the Hudson River and the Sacandaga River.

Points of Interest: Broadalbin, Day, Edinburg, Kenyon Islands, Mayfield, Northville, and West Day

    Features:

    • Chart Location: Great Sacandaga Lake, New York
    • Material: Baltic Birch
    • Dimensions: 13.5" x 31"
    • Ready to hang solid-wood frame with quality acrylic dust cover
    • Intricate detail

Starting with a bathymetric chart (the underwater equivalent of a topographic map), Wood Charts uses laser-cutters to carve the contours into sheets of Baltic birch and glue them together to create a powerful visual depth. They hand stain select layers a blue-green so it's easy to discern land from water, etch major byways into the land, then frame the carving in a custom, solid-wood frame protected with a sheet of durable, ultra-transparent acrylic and ready to hang.
